Hey everyone,
Life's shifted gears again! After a period of more flexible learning, I'm officially back at work, and alongside that, I've got university assignments due. It's a familiar feeling for many of us trying to build something new (like an algo trading skill set) while balancing existing commitments.
The sudden increase in demands means my time is now a far more precious commodity. It's no longer just about deciding what to learn; it's about figuring out when and how to squeeze it all in without burning out.
Enter: The Bullet Journal
This is exactly why I've finally taken the plunge and started bullet journaling! I've been eyeing this method for a while, and now seems like the perfect time to give it a real shot. My primary goal is to increase my time management and productivity by getting everything out of my head and onto paper in a structured, yet flexible, way.
For those unfamiliar, a bullet journal is a customisable organisational system. It's not just a simple planner; it's a method for:
- Tracking tasks and events: From work deadlines to uni assignment milestones and personal appointments.
- Organising thoughts: A central place for all those fleeting ideas and to-dos that usually get lost.
- Planning for the future: Breaking down big goals (like learning the Supply & Demand strategy or finishing a book) into actionable daily steps.
My hope is that this new system will help me clearly visualise my workload, prioritise what's truly important, and ensure I'm making progress on all fronts without dropping any balls.
Blending Learning into the Workday Grind
The ultimate goal is to find ways to blend in some more learning during the workday. This doesn't mean slacking off at my job, but rather leveraging those often-overlooked pockets of time. Think about:
- Commute time: This is where the audio format of the Babypips School of Pipsology has already been a massive win!
- Lunch breaks: Instead of endless scrolling, maybe a quick review of notes from "Six Figure From Scratch" or a short chapter reading.
- Short gaps between tasks: A few minutes to define a term or review a concept.
It's about intentionality. With the bullet journal, I can literally schedule these small learning blocks, making them part of my daily routine rather than an afterthought. Every little bit adds up, especially when you're trying to master something as complex as algo trading while juggling life's other responsibilities.
Wish me luck as I navigate this new phase of increased demands and disciplined organisation!
